What do you do when it's 8pm and the thick heavy snow just knocked out power?

Build a Snow Stig!

We headed to the beach after the Fort. Though it was quite comfortable outside in shorts, the water was very cold and hurt my feet to stand in it. That didn't stop the boys playing in it and Ian even got totally wet.

After visiting the Estuarium, we walked over to historic Fort Gaines. The boys showed immediate interest in the cannons and the fort, so we decided to go inside to explore (the kids are free!). The fort is a great place to explore with lots of tunnels, rooms, ramps, and stairs to climb around on as well as trek around the ridge of the fort. We also got to watch a blacksmith make a handle for a trowel he was making.

Yesterday we went to Dauphin Island for the day. The first stop was the Estuarium. It's a great small aquarium perfect for little boys' attention spans. We got to see the turtles, big fish, and jellyfish get fed.

Ian is convinced he can devise a way to give it rocket power and actually take off. We've been telling him that you can only do that in a factory. He is not convinced.
